Our product

ABP produces millions of Green Metric Tonnes (GMT) of Eucalyptus globulus woodchips every year. Because when it comes to dissolving pulp in the paper and rayon industries, E. globulus is unparalleled.

What is E. globulus?

E. globulus stands out above the rest for its pulping ability.

Known for its high pulp yield, wood density and fibre properties, it’s the ideal species for producing top-quality pulp.

And, therefore, the efficient production of high-quality paper.

How is E. globulus used?

Thanks to its fibres, E. globulus offers superior bulk and smoothness – which are both important for producing printing and writing paper.

Its high bulk and absorption capacity make it a great choice for high-quality tissue production, as well.

Thanks to its high cellulose and low lignin content, E. globulus is also used in the production of viscose, lyocell and rayon.

And if that weren’t enough, its superior wood properties make it suitable for producing liner boards, glossy packaging and magazine paper.

How much does ABP produce?

We export up to 3.3 million GMT of woodchips annually to China and Japan.

Of that, 1 million GMT comes from our Albany Chip Terminal, 2 million GMT comes from our Portland Chip Terminal and 300,000 GMT is softwood.
