Senior Harvest Forester – Albany WA

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Forester with the ambition and potential to advance into management roles. You’ll be instrumental in roading and harvest planning, overseeing contractors to meet our objectives while ensuring compliance with ABP standards, as well as regulatory and FSC requirements. Your passion for integrating technology into forestry is as strong as your proficiency.


Responsibilities include:
• Actively promoting safe behaviours and attitudes among staff, contractors, and visitors.
• Managing harvest roading contractors on a daily basis to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and legislative requirements.
• Conducting harvest planning and ensuring adherence to the planned schedule developed in collaboration with the Harvesting Manager.
• Providing coverage for the Harvest Manager during their absence.
• Supervising harvest operations to meet production targets while maintaining quality.
• Developing Timber Harvest Plans.
• Conducting and overseeing plantation inductions and record-keeping.
• Collaborating with contractors to solve challenges and ensure sufficient resources are available to meet daily volume targets.
• Managing processes and procedures to ensure quality service provision.
• Contributing to personal and team professional performance and development.
• Adopting a holistic approach to operations to maximise results for ABP.


Qualifications and experience
• Formal qualifications in forestry, agriculture, or a related discipline preferred.
• Forestry experience, harvesting preferred. Roading, agriculture experience will be considered.
• Previous experience supervising contractors.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and ability to motivate others.
• Results-oriented mindset to meet deadlines.
• Strong people and communication skills to confidently interact with contractors stakeholders, local government, and staff, effectively conveying ideas.
• Proficiency in Microsoft software packages, especially Excel.
• Open minded, with willingness to embrace new technology.
• A manual car driver’s license.
Preferred, but not essential:
• Previous experience supervising direct reports.
• Experience in firefighting and fire truck drivers’ license.
• Experience working to strict certification standards.

Silviculture Forester – Hamilton VIC

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person with well-developed forestry or agricultural operations supervision experience with high professional standards to become a valued member of our silvicultural team based in the Green Triangle (GT) region.

As a Silvicultural Forester, your role would include:
• Land and plantation management.
• Managing contractor works, land preparation, establishment and plantation tending.
• Managing plantation fire prevention works
• Ensure that stakeholder interactions and communications with landholders and neighbours are professionally undertaken.
• Continual improvement of second rotation establishment techniques.
• Collaborate with harvesting for property handover and assist in resolving challenges.
You will also be part of the organisation’s fire management team and, at times, required to be on call.

We would love to hear from you if you have:
• An ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet work standards and deadlines.
• A great attitude and willingness to demonstrate our values.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated skills and/or experience in the forestry or agricultural sector.
• Competent computer skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Experience or competency in the following would be highly regarded, but are not essential:
• Studying for, or have tertiary qualifications, particularly in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Agricultural Science, or related fields.
• Experience in firefighting.
• Experience in working with strict certification standards.
• First aid qualifications.
• Truck license (MR,)
